Engine and Tanker Run First Due to Company 2 Fire
Sat. Nov 7th 2009

At 1544 hours, Engine 11, Tanker 17, and other Greene County units responded to 12 Buttercup Rd. for the reported shed fire. Engine 11 arrived on scene with a 10x20 foot shed with heavy smoke showing from sides Alpha and Bravo. Crews stretched a handline to the side door and began attacking the fire. Due to the floor being burned out on side Bravo, crews were forced to use the garage door to regain entry. Crews were met with heavy smoke and fire and were able to make a good knock on the fire until Engine 31 and Engine 23 arrived. Tanker 17 set up water supply and Chief 11 had the command. The fire was determined to have started after the leaves caught fire on the deck of the homeowners mower after mowing operations.
